Experience Mr. Heynssens’ award winning professional career of the past 26 years has included positions of management and technical assistance in the corporate, commercial, and residential sectors of landscape architecture and planning. He has directed the planning, design, and implementation of projects across the United States, Mexico, Canada, and Europe.
In 1987, he began his partnership in the design/build firm of Heynssens+Grassman, Inc. The firm provides professional landscape architectural services, which include environmental assessment, site planning, and detail design. Heynssens+Grassman, Inc. provides the implementation of plans including overall site preparation, the installation of plant materials, paving surfaces and utility systems, as well as the construction of architectural and water features.
The primary construction management responsibility of the firm lies with Mr. Heynssens. In addition, the responsibilities of financial management, business development, personnel, contract negotiations, liability issues, and general administration are a part of his daily routine. As an owner of Heynssens+Grassman, Inc., he has provided landscape architectural design documents, specifications, and complete construction management services to corporate, commercial, and industrial clients.
Prior to establishing Heynssens+Grassman, Inc., and as Chief Landscape Architect for American Hospital Supply Corporation, Mr. Heynssens was responsible for developing systems for real estate evaluation prior to corporate acquisition, as well as site and master planning for projects of varying complexities. In addition to his expertise in land planning, Mr. Heynssens was instrumental in developing in-house computer-aided design systems for both architectural and landscape architectural use.
